Sunday Doll Post: A Raincoat for Winter

April 15, 2012
by

These pictures were taken in January, back when it was actually winter (as apposed to now when it is “spring”) (we never get spring here in South Dakota, it usually just goes straight from blizzards to blazing). Interestingly, I actually caught one of only two snows we’ve had this year (not so good for the fire danger around here, we’ve already had about 3 grass fires in town in the last month).

Anyways, this is Molly’s Raincoat and hat from the original American Girl patterns (which you can get free here) made out of an old shower curtain, the plastic type. Really, how could I just throw out such cool shower curtain? It has rubber ducks on it! Also means I didn’t have to finish any edges (fist pump).

Look at that perfect pattern placement! What kind of needle did you use?
