How Sewing Needles Are Made

July 7, 2011

I love the Science channel on TV. My favorite shows on it are How It’s Made, Factory Made, and How They Do It. These shows are all really similar and basically go through the manufacturing process of all sorts of different things from train engines to jam. Today I was absolutely mesmorized when they showed how hand sewing needles were made! I can’t figure out how to get the video into a post so here is the link to the video.

While finding the link to the needle video clip I found another clip about sewing machines on a show called Deconstructed where they take things apart to show you how they work (so if you don’t want to see a sewing machine stripped down look away now! Haha it’s ok, they don’t actually destroy the machine ). I love seeing how things are made or how their mechanisms work, must be the engineer in me!
