Pedro’s Sassy Pants
This year I made Pedro a pair of stretchy “jeans” for Christmas/Hanukkah. They’re inspired by Pinterest!

To make them, I traced a pair of Pedro’s pajama pants using sticky freezer paper then cut them out of some stretch denim. There are front pockets, the waist band is made out of black 4 way stretch knit (like you would find on yoga pants) and I stitched on a fake zipper fly.
Let’s hear what Pedro has to say:
A good metaphor for these pants is a man playing a piano in the middle of the tundra. He’s really cold so he messes up a lot while playing, the music sounds pretty eery and mysterious. But after a while of this he can’t play anymore because he’s so cold and his fingers have frozen. Then he dies, you know, because he’s in the tundra… I’m not good at metaphors.

The waistband is not meant to be seen much, which is good because if it’s not folded down (as pictured) they look a little like maternity pants.
Anyways… They’re fairly loose fitting just because they are based on pajama pants, but the point was to make fake jeans for Pedro to wear when she didn’t feel like putting real clothes on. I believe that mission has been accomplished.

I regret taking my review so seriously. I didn’t think to use metaphors. I think I need a do-over.
I think they are cute, practical, and fun. Sorta like two sisters I have heard about. . .
Teehee, pajama jeans…love it! I think you were definitely successful!
